[ABOUT]
The interesting thing is in the margins. Everything that arises in a limit is calling into question a center, a canon, the norm. In a margin the divergent is born, other ways of reading and designing. A new typography, another way of layout, new ways of communicating. Notes are written in a blank margin, we leave our mark permanent, a dialogue with a book and with another person.

Between the margin and the ink, silence gives meaning to the content, we rest between the lines. The margin is the air and the pause that we need so as not to drown in any story. In the margins is the poet, the artist, the craftsman. It is the border and horizon between one idea and another. This exhibition compiles the editorial works of the Visual Arts students of IED Madrid. A space of creativity where books inhabit the limits of this installation looking for a different look from the viewer and from themselves.

From digital to paper, from paper to celluloid. In collaboration with the avLAB, the graphics of this exhibition will be projected in motion through the artisan technique of film without a camera "Transfer Film". An alternative audiovisual proposal that combines design and moving image.

[ABOUT]

ABONO 00 is a magazine made by and for students, to enjoy and experiment with design under a creative framework and without commitment. We wanted to discover what it means to make a publication, with no greater pretension than designing for design's sake, through the transformation of the concept of a gardening magazine to a design magazine. The most important thing during this process has been humor and fun, which has allowed us to create a more creative and experimental environment, which is why it is not a typical magazine.

The project, throughout its development, has been expanding in new directions, has given rise to workshops, interviews with teachers or the students themselves have the opportunity to publicize their personal projects. The objective was to contextualize the ied through the work of students and alumni, interviewing them has been an opportunity to understand this world a little more and see the different possibilities that studying graphic design has.

[ABOUT]
BOOOOOK is a project that explores the possibilities of expandingdidacies of the book both in digital and printed media.

Quarantine is the concept of this first edition: the 23April 2020, International Book Day, marks 40days of confinement in Spain due to the COVID-19 crisis. For this reason, each one of the 40 students of the 2 course ofGraphic Design of IED Madrid has designed a number (from 1 to 40)that represents you visually.

The sum of these graphsindividuals builds a large digital mosaic, a kind of bookopen where each number symbolically represents thepage of a book, a visual-collective manifesto configured tofrom 40 different voices. In addition, each student has developed a websitepersonal, linked in his name, where he visually expressesmind her experience as designer-citizen in thepost-COVID eraPause, play again, read in white, black and black and white, navigate, mouse :hover, click, enjoy.

[ABOUT]

Vegetafilia is the result of uniting two plants. Plants and foot plants. Fetishism and the plant world. In this workshop we will expand the “plant” concept.

Each student will produce their own footwear based on the traditional Art Deco lettering with its organic and vegetal forms. Then we will reproduce the design on rubber in a laser cutter. Once the sandal sole is produced, we will make a lookbook with the results.

[ABOUT]

A space that gives visibility to the creative design process curated by the academic community (staff and/or teachers) of the IED Madrid. Every month, at the Altamira and Porto venues, a selection of works by Undergraduate and Postgraduate students will be shown. In this way we discover what is behind a design project/product, we get to know the methodologies and processes of this creative discipline and we enjoy the talent of the IED Madrid students.

The graphic concept is based on Mock up. And understand this graphic tool as a creative container. A space to show your work. The resource made concept. Mockup as recognizable but non-invasive graphic identity...(unedited).
